Vivian Mayers is a violinist and educator living in Winston-Salem, NC. She specializes in the performance of early music (music written before c. 1750) and holds a Master's degree in Historical Performance from The Juilliard School. Ms. Mayers has appeared in concert with chamber ensembles and orchestras such as Les Arts Florissants,  Juilliard Baroque, the Yale Baroque Opera Project, Valley of the Moon Music Festival, the Elm City Consort, The Sebastians, and the Salem Bach Festival. She was a founding member of the Arrow Quartet, a NYC-based ensemble that performs early repertoire for string quartet on historical instruments. Ms. Mayers is a section violinist in the Winston-Salem Symphony, performing under the baton of Michelle Merrill.

 

Ms. Mayers works with violin students of all ages (her current students range from 3 to 60 years old). She has completed teacher training from the Suzuki Association of the Americas in Violin Units 1 and 2, as well as teacher training in the Kaleidoscopes method for violin, Unit 1. Ms. Mayers has extensive experience as an individual tutor, providing English and writing instruction to students grades K-12. She worked as a third grade classroom teacher at the Arts Based School in Winston-Salem, NC. Ms. Mayers graduated from Yale University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in History.
